Mould & Moisture Assessment Following Escape of Liquid

RCA Services was engaged following a significant escape of liquid event caused by a burst pipe within a residential property. The property remained wet for an extended period prior to assessment, resulting in concerns relating to hidden moisture damage, microbial amplification and indoor environmental contamination. RCA Services conducted a comprehensive moisture and environmental assessment including moisture mapping, thermal imaging, invasive inspection of concealed building cavities, environmental sampling and laboratory-supported analysis. Active mould growth was identified within wall cavities and microscopic fungal contamination was detected on internal surfaces throughout the property due to the ongoing amplification condition. RCA Services prepared a detailed technical report outlining contamination findings, affected materials, remediation requirements and environmental recommendations. A comprehensive remediation scope of works was subsequently developed to support rectification and restoration activities.

Fire & Smoke Damage Assessment Following Residential Structure Fire

The assessment included inspection of fire-affected areas, review of smoke migration pathways, contamination assessment of structural and porous materials, odour investigation and environmental sampling where required. Hidden contamination impacts were identified within concealed areas and unaffected sections of the property due to smoke migration and combustion residue deposition. During the 2021 Sydney flood catastrophe event, RCA Services mobilised rapidly to support major insurance clients and restoration stakeholders across a high volume of flood-affected properties. Services included comprehensive moisture and environmental assessments, damage scoping, contamination investigation and development of detailed mitigation and restoration scopes of work. RCA Services worked closely with insurers and restoration contractors to facilitate timely commencement of drying, mitigation and remediation activities in order to reduce the progression of secondary damage, microbial growth and long-term environmental impacts.
